JAKARTA – The Indonesian Telecommunication Network Provider Association (APJATEL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Fiber Alliance (IFA) to accelerate the implementation of the Open Access Fiber network in Indonesia.
This collaboration marks a joint commitment to optimizing national fiber infrastructure, increasing market competition, and reducing the cost of high-quality internet services for the people of Indonesia.
“MoU with IFA is a strategic step for APJATEL and our members to accelerate the development of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure,” said APJATEL Chairman Jerry Mangasas Swandy on Thursday, December 11.

According to IFA Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Watts, worldwide, from Europe to Africa to the United States, open access networks have proven successful not only as a technical solution but also as a powerful economic accelerator.
“By increasing competition, reducing excessive development, and maximizing the use and commercial products of each fiber installed, open access creates a stronger and more inclusive digital ecosystem,” said Richard.
